I have an e-mail from the NM Chess Organization about a new competition theyapos;re instituting in an attempt to increase participation in NM Tournaments. Hereapos;s the first paragraph:

Starting with the 2008 New Mexico Open, November 1st and 2nd, there
will be a year long competition for the "New Mexico Cup". There will
be a plaque, carried forward from year to year, with the winners
names and each individual winner will receive a "New Mexico Cup".


I swear, I keep reading that as "there will be a plague, carried forward from..."


In other chessic news, Iapos;m planning on going to the tournament mentioned. That weekend will be interesting, considering Iapos;m planning on going to a wedding on the 31st on the other side of the state.
